All, I had been making tea, so I only saw the end of a tackle in which Beckham took a little kick at Stephen Hughes (slow-mo). Hughes got booked so presumably this was Beckham's mature response. About 2 minutes later, a combination of Keane and Beckham sent Hughes crashing to the floor in a Klinsmann goal celebration style. Though the ref missed it the replay clearly shows the boy blunder deliberatly kick/tread/stamp on the back of Hughes' inner thigh. It was the sort of tackle that made you wince. Potentially very painful and injury causing, probably not too far from his bollocks and reminded you instantly of how Beckham cost us the World Cup. Beckham just started snarling at Hughes in that way which is so pathetic it can only be compared to some of my own performances on a squash court. It was some consolation that Scumchester got beat 3-0 but there can be NO Beckham debate - he's a thick tosser who'll lose England other games because playing under Ferguson teaches a man to be a child. On a happier note it was good to see Saints on top for a whole 30 minutes of a game. I'm sure dave jones hasn't drawn the 'inevitable' conclusion that this had something to do with Matty playing, Hughes being withdrawn from attack and Dodd and Lundekvam reverting to their usual positions - but I wish he would. Beasant and Monkou on Sunday footie chat on Sky made it clear (without saying it) that jones feels forced to pick Le Tiss but doesn't really want to. Overweight (??), low on confidence and undervalued by his employers (but enough of me) and he's still scored 2 goals in 2 premiership starts. You may acuse me of blind faith but it's got to be better than just plain blind. Love to you all, Lloydy PS. It's all gone quiet every where...??!
