Subject: Re: All quiet on every front.... I know you lot have been sitting on the edge of your lard-mail-cubicle seats for the past few months, but I can now relieve your tension ... our first vegetable has come up ... it's a little baby marrow! Ahhh. But enough of such married-life antics, also headlining in the Harris household was Jacks' Andersen's xmas do (held curiously in June) where I managed to not wear a green skiing jacket (`a la xmas show 2 years ago), and also didn't completely goon-up any conversations with their head-of-UK tax. In fact it was an excellent evening! Blackberry & Dandelion have grown up, and the great thing is we hardly have to feed them at all now, due to the very high numbers of moths and other insects that they take great pleasure in hunting and eating. Did I tell you about the time Blackberry climbed on top of the greenhouse? (cats are now banned from INSIDE the greenhouse, since last time when Dandelion decided that my tray of oh-so-delicate strawberry seedlings would be a perfect surrogate for her litter tray.) Anyway, Blackberry climbed on to the ridge, where the roof makes a 60degree intersection with the walls (can you picture it?) and proceeded to cattedly try and make his way up the last 3 feet of roof to the top. Unfortunately if all you have are very-sharp claws and the roof is made of glass the end result was 1 feet of upwards scrabbling, followed by 1 feet of gradual fingernails-on-blackboard type of gradual descent. This culminated in a last desperate attempt for the summit followed by an even quicker descent with all four paws wielding fully-extended nails and Blackberry's head last seen disappearing over the edge of the greenhouse with an 'I know what's happening, but I just can't-do-anything-about-it' look on it! My how I chuckled as I polished my cucumber leaves... Love, Jonnieeee.
