Interests and Activities
Sport : I play squash for the Manchester Northern LTSC in the North West Counties League,
and baseball for the Manchester Baseball Club in the Northern Conference of the BBF National Premier League.
Responsibilities : President and first team manager of the Manchester Baseball Club in 2003/2004 and UMIST Squash Club in 1997/1998. Previously captained Manchester Northern LTSC, UMIST SC, Southampton University SC and Regents SC teams at squash, and Shipton-Under-Wychwood CC, Southampton University CC and Chipping Norton Comprehensive School teams at cricket.
Travel : I recently took a sabbatical from work to travel in the southern hemisphere (SE Asia, OZ, NZ, and Brazil) for 3 months, and during a year off after my first degree I lived in Vancouver for 4 months. I have also travelled in North and South America and Europe, spending a lot of time in Rio and France where a lot my family lives.
Pastimes : I enjoy reading, particularly science fiction, hard science, fantasy, science fact, and historical novels. I also follow Southampton FC and Gloucestershire CCC, attending games when I can.
