| roj | Guys there has been too much cr@p now so I`ve added a password to this board. Anyone who knows the name of the dodgy nightclub we used to hang out in (under Clowns) will know what it is! Email me if you can`t (or deny) remember(ing). | 3 May 2006 |
| roj | We`ve been gettig a lot of cr@p spam stuff posted on here so I`ve added stuff to counteract any hacking, but I will take more drastic action and even shut it down if it continues,. | 6 August 2005 |
| roj | Cheers Nick, sorry you weren`t there. We had a great time and I everyone else seemed to enjoy themselves too! Happy NY everyone. | 31 December 2004 |
| Smiffy | Roj,Flavia - Congrats and saying `I do`. Really wish we made the big day.....Nick and Victoria | 2 December 2004 |

| lee | Your lucky, the ice and any chance of snow has now passed, there is only strong winds at the moment, but thats Jeff for you. You will be pleased to know that the M62 roadworks have finished, so there is only the M6 major bridge repairs and resurfacing on the M57 to cope with, make the most of what time you have left, see you soon. ps. desk moves, your sitting next to Liz. | 14 January 2003 |
| roj | Only a week to go now, I am not looking forward to going home that much. Its 38C here, and I´m starting to get used to that, so talk of sub zero temperatures (and HCR3) are not too pleasant. But I guess I´ll see you all next week. | 11 January 2003 |
| Gary | Happy New Year to you both. Disappointed you`re missing home Roj! Whilst you`re both sitting on the beach, think of defrosting your car in -2 like we all had to this morning before being able to drive to work!!! Saints are doing well though, great result in the Cup too. HGaven`t spoken to Matt yet, but it was a definite thrashing, so can`t see him being too pleased - 4-0! | 6 January 2003 |
| roj | Happy new year everyone. I must say I almost missing being at home right now, even being at work, in fact I´d love to be in Liverpool right now - to point out to everyone that the saints are currently above the ´pool, glory days indeed. | 2 January 2003 |
| Nick and Victoria | Feliz Navidad y Ano Neuvo Lards from Buenos Aires. | 27 December 2002 |
| roj | We are in Rio now, no probs so far, happy xmas all. | 26 December 2002 |
| jeff | Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you both. As you say roj not long till you`re back now. By IG`s and my reckoning should be just in time for HCR3 UAT Support. Happy trails | 24 December 2002 |
| Mum | Not long now till Noel how time has flown,Happy Christmas to you both | 20 December 2002 |
| roj | We justed arrived in Wellington after 10 days on the on the south island. We are off to see Lord of the Rings II tonight - although getting tickets wasn`t easy. We leave NZ in 5 days from Auckland so we only have time for 1 night here before we drive up to the centre of the north island and visit the geothermal sites and glow worm caves. Hopefully now we are out of the southern alps we`ll see a bit more sun. Happy christmas all. | 19 December 2002 |
| Michael Odeneye | Good to see ehat you are all doing now, all having fun; good to see nothing has changed from Soton days Have a nice xmas all, and a smashing new Year. | 17 December 2002 |
| lee | Nice photo`s, everywhere looks amazing, all the best with the rest of the trip, have a Merry Christmas. lee & suzy | 17 December 2002 |
| roj | Jeff, well I suppose it had to happen sooner or later, but I must admit I didn`t expect the blues to raise their heads this season. It makes a change to have some unfashionable teams at the top, and big boys (I`m thinking leeds not the hammers) at the bottom. | 17 December 2002 |
| jeff | He`s not talking to anyone yet. Terry printed the league table out and has put it on his desk. Looks like we may get fireworks before the new year! | 16 December 2002 |
| roj | Just added some more photos to the website, have a look here. | 16 December 2002 |
| roj | We left queenstown (south island) today and drove to the two glaciers on the west coast (fox and franz). We walked up to the mouth of the fox one (bit chilly) today, and we are going on a 4 hr hike of the other one tomorrow, apparently its really nice, but we`ll see. | 16 December 2002 |
| roj | Jeff, just saw the footy results and hammers got stuffed (looking a bit dodgy there) and l`pool lost too (again). Doesn`t that put everton above them? How are Ian and the rest of red l`pool taking that? | 16 December 2002 |
| roj | We`re in NZ now, we left oz a few days ago, our final port was melobourne which was a bit chilly. We went along the ocean road too which is a pretty good drive. We started in christchurh and drove to queenstown yesterday, its a pretty beautiful country to driove around I must say. We`ll be driving up to the north island after this but are in the mountains at the momemnt. Its a bit cold here too and we bought gloves today and found ourselves in the snow when we went to the top of the resort gondala. | 14 December 2002 |
| jeff | As promised some good news for your return. CMG will be making 400 of its UK staff redundant as a result of the merger. I don`t think there will be any more news until your return to work. CU then | 12 December 2002 |
| Sara & Roy | We`re in Thailand. La La La! We`ve survived being on the back of an enraged charging elephant, trekking through leech-infested jungles and going over rapids on a bamboo raft. Just watched a sunset on the beach with a cold beer. We hate this life! See you all soon | 12 December 2002 |
| roj | Jeff, 7-0! I wouldn`t have believed you would I? As for Ian, does he still think Jerzy Dudek is a better keeper than Khan? | 11 December 2002 |
| jeff | Thank you Searlo for that information. I was hoping to tell roj that the Hammer crushed them 7-0. Man U beat Liverpool 2-0 on Saturday. Ian Grimes hasn`t spoken to anyone since. | 10 December 2002 |
| Searlo | Saints won 1-0 (Beattie scored in last minute) Hope you are enjoying the trip. Claire and I got back from Oz on 9th Nov after visiting Sydney, Melbourne and Cairns. Try and do the Great Ocean Road. Its a long day but the views are spectacular. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year if I don`t speak to you before then. | 6 December 2002 |
| roj | That should read `It was quite an experinece`. BTW does anyone know the score in the Saints v Hammers game? My phone wouldn`t work in the red centre and missed it? | 6 December 2002 |
| roj | We`ve just arrived in Melbourne after a week in the outback. I was quite an experience, we hired a car and drove from alice springs to uluru (ayres rock) and kings canyon - a 1500Km trip. Both sites are very stunning, and the outback itself has some fantastic scenery. Needless to say it was bloody hot, we were getting up at dawn to visit the sites and walk around when it was cooler. Internet access there was v expensive too, hence the break. We are now in Melbourne for 5 days before we say goodbye to Oz and go to New Zealand until xmas day. | 6 December 2002 |
| mum and bec | Hello! We`re on our second Kir in your health and our second batch of mince pies... jealous? Hope everything is going well and according to plan. Take care, thinking of you both | 3 December 2002 |
| Mum | All the best on the next stage of the trip | 29 November 2002 |
| jeff | Sadly no news on anything. If your going to be made redundant then don`t worry you`ll be able to read it here first. | 27 November 2002 |
| Flavia | The diving course was fantastic!! I was scared, but really, once you`re under the sea, there`s nothing to be scared of, and it`s all fun. Amazing to swim in the middle of schools of fish! See the pics here, but we lost the underwater disposable camera, so we haven`t got pictures under the sea, snif... You can laugh looking at me on my diving gear. Roj looks much better, but I look like a strange fish-like thing, to say the least. Carrying the stuff to the water is hard work, and the classroom stuff and pool exercises are a bit boring, but it is all worth it. Once you`re in the reef, all of that is past and it`s pure amazement!! Fantastic! The boat was great as well. Nice people, very nice crew, excellent food and the facilities for diving couldn`t be better. We had a wonderful time. Our instructor was very good. There`s a picture with him - "Kiwi" Andy (from NZ, obviously). I am still swaying from spending 3 days on the boat, and my ears will take a while to go back to normal after 8 dives. On the whole, we`ve spent almost 5 yours under the sea. | 22 November 2002 |
| roj | Diving was great, we both did alright and are now qualified. The night dive was the only disappointment, we went in too big a group and there were so many torches and people bundling around the reef all the fish went of and hid until we had gone, I can`t blame them. All other dives - especially our last 3 on our own were really good, saw lots of fish, including a shark! Only a little 4ft one though. | 22 November 2002 |
| roj | Hi Jeff, new policies eh, presumably they want to stick more people in our room. I gave my key to Iain, it is in a stapler in the back of his pod. Just stick all my stuff in one, I don`t think there is much and I`ll sort it our when I get back. Any more news on the merger/takeover? | 22 November 2002 |
| Nick Smiff | Roj, Flavia - Hope you had fun diving on the reef. How was the night dive? | 22 November 2002 |
| Jeff | Where is the key to your pod. Office tidy-up now restricts us to one each, and you have two!!!! | 21 November 2002 |
| Mum | Loved the photos,any more? | 19 November 2002 |
| roj | Updated my website with some photos of the first part of our trip, here. | 19 November 2002 |
| roj | Hi guys, halfway through our reef diving course now, we head out on the boat tonight to do our open water dives, we`ll be away for 3 days. | 19 November 2002 |
| roj | Don`t worry Nicky-boy they have these new fangled `puters everywhere, airports, bars, hostels, museums etc. Its no bother to log on for 5 mins to tell everyone where we are and where we`re going - often its been free for a few mins too. | 13 November 2002 |
| roj | We`re on our road trip now, we are currently in Hervey bay having driven up sunshine coast from brisbane - stopping in Noosa for a couple of days. We are going to Frazer island tomorrow then of to Airlie beach and the Whitsundays islands for maybe a week. | 13 November 2002 |
| Mum | Saw some of the cricket on TV,what a crowd! Unfortunately I did not spot you, could you not have waved a union jack? Have fun. | 10 November 2002 |
| Nicky-boy Wales | Great pictures. But Roj, leave the computer alone. There will be plenty of time when you get back! Anycase, hope all is well you guys. | 10 November 2002 |
| roj | Well the cricket`s over, in 4 days as I predicted before the match (but not during) so we won`t need to check in for an extra night and we head off up sunshine coast tomorrow morning. | 10 November 2002 |
| roj | Much better day 2 in the cricket, england winning all 3 sessions, nice to see the aussies quiet for once, they had never seen vaughn or tresothick before and both impressed. Day 3 was mixed but the aussies are now on top after the england apsed (again!). Barmy army are amazing though, they are sat in the front sections, ie the sunny ones and sing and drink all day! A few have been escorted out, but on the whole everyone seems to think they are entertaining and just enjoying themseleves, but they wouldn`t go down too well at Lord`s I think. | 9 November 2002 |
| Gary | Not a great start to the cricket and unfortunately Jones is out for about 6 months with cruciate ligament injuries. As for Sydney, BBQ Brazilain style sounds great. There is another Doyles opposite the Opera House, if you look from the side, with Circular Quay to your left. Glad you enjoyed it as much as we did. Hope the cricket improves, England`s anyway, keep cheering the boys on! | 7 November 2002 |
| roj | In Brisbane now, another easy trip and we have just been to the first day of the ashes, 20 thousand aussies laughing at england`s cr@p fielding, great, hopefully they`ll play better tomorrow. The gabba is great though, not to hot either, and nice 25C in the shade with a comfortable breeze, apparently we were lucky - that was the only luck I saw today! Hope the welsh lad jones gets beter soon, he looked good and that was a sickening injury, just below us. | 7 November 2002 |
| roj | We left sydney yesterday and I miss it, great place, I will defintely return. We did most of things suggested, but not the seafood restaurant - had enough for now in HK / singapore. We did go to a brazilian BBQ place on our last night though, it was called `wildfire` and had a view of the opera house - if you are not familiar with brazilian BBQs basically they force feed you meat until you practically explode, highly recommended. | 7 November 2002 |
| Gary | Hey Roj, sounds like you`re having fun, lucky so and so! Only just got the address, so been catching up on all the postings. A week is probably not enough in Sydney, but recommend: go to top of Centre Point tower (great views), the Rocks (nice shopping area), Darling Harbour (eating by the harbour is nice) and last but not least Doyles On The Beach (great sea food). Probably too late now. Laters. | 4 November 2002 |
| lee | Just been catching up on all the entries, sounds like your having a good time, me and suzy loved sentosa and the night safari when we were there, hope the rest of your hols are as good as what you`ve experienced so far, all the best. lee. | 4 November 2002 |
| roj | 105F eh, sounds hot to me. | 4 November 2002 |
| Yobert | Hi roj, glad you`re having a great time, and by the way, 35 degrees is something like 105-110 in Farenheit. | 4 November 2002 |
| dave | Didnt mean to finish then. Our trip to the Dam was most eventfull full details on your return but ended with KLM loosing all our luggage still not got it all back yet. Have great time in aus keep me posted and take care | 3 November 2002 |
| Dave | Hi glad your both having a good time thanks for E mail the site a great idea | 3 November 2002 |
| roj | Hi Mum, yes its hot but only 25C in sydney, but brisbane should be 10 degrees more than that (I don`t know what that is in old money). Yes, we both have tickets for the cricket, passes reallly so flavia can join me at lunch. I`ll try and send some photos soon, sydney is great btw. | 3 November 2002 |
| Mum | I cannot imagine you not coping with the heat, how hot is it anyway? We are back to the sunshine in Chez Paris, hope Flavia is better,is she going to cricket with you?thanks for pc.Puppies are all well. | 2 November 2002 |
| roj | We are now in Sydney and its fantastic, great weather, lots to do, really friendly people, will a week here be enough. We went to bondi beach yesterday and we are in the Powerhouse museum at the moment, which has a `the myth of star wars` exhibit. Very nice. | 1 November 2002 |
| roj | We`re at the airport now waiting for our flight to Sydney. We didn`t get to Lantau in the end today because it chucked it down all day (just like being at home) so instead we went to Kowloon to look around the museums - essentially staying indoors. We now have a week in Sydney to look forward to before taking in the first ashes test in Brisbane, I`ve struggled a bit in the heat so far and now its going to get really hot, so I`m a tad apprehensive about that but I`m sure i`ll get used to it. | 30 October 2002 |
| roj | Cheers Jonnie and Sara for you thoughts on actually doing a bit of sightseeng, we are, but flavia`s been unwell last couple of days so we`ve been staying near the hotel. She`s better now and for our last day in hong kong we will got to lantau island, but I think the budda is closed, a strike by monks protesting about building a disneyland next door or something. | 29 October 2002 |
| roj | Hi Jeff, cheers fr that, I had just managed to erase hydrocarbons from my mind, ah well it should only take another day or 2 to do it again. I just hope you guys finish it before I get back, I really don`t want to end up working on it again. | 29 October 2002 |
| jeff | Bob Bruce has asked me for this guestbook address, as he has some questions for you. I said that I`m sure you would like him and Judith to have it, so I sent him a link. | 28 October 2002 |
| Sara | Stu - Go to the night safari just outside Singapore. It`s next to the Zoo and is absolutely amazing. It opens early evening until about 11`ish I think. Don`t go too late as getting back into town can me a pain - the trains don`t run very late and we had to get a cab! The Hindu temple in Little India is also amazing! Roj - Glad to see you`re having fun. Enjoy the rest of your trip and we`ll see you next year. You`ve now managed to avoid some devastating gales in England. | 28 October 2002 |
| Jonnie | Roj - what are doing back in a cyber-cafe`?!! You`re meant to be on holiday - get out there and see Honkers! The J`s top tips are : . Go to Lan Tau and see the World`s largest sitting down Buddha (avoiding rabid dog) . Go to Aberdeen island to the beach. . Eat Wonton soup, just so you know not to eat it again in the future... | 28 October 2002 |
| roj | After 4 flights in a week you`d think we were getting a bit tired but its all gone quite smoothly so far. We have had upgrades in all the hotel ad one upgrade to business class on a cathay flight. We arrived late in hong kong last night (9.30pm) and made our way to the cheap bus to the hotel ($40 each), despite the shuttle bus guys trying to convince us to spend $450 with them for the same trip. Because it was late it took half the time the said guys told us, and after we checked in (after a nice room upgraded when I complained about the smokey room) we went to the bar to find a big tv showing a live match of the saints beating fulham 4-2. Sweeet. | 28 October 2002 |
| roj | Hi Chris, no we didn`t really do anything else in bangkok apart from visit the royal palace, eat, shop and sit by the pool. We visited Ayutthya which was tiring and then we sat by the pool some more. Maybe not too adventurous but flavia only finished her phd the day before and our beach rest in bali was cancelled so we just took it easy in bangkok. | 28 October 2002 |
| roj | Hi Stu, ifyou have only 1 day in singapore then we suggest going to Sentosa, its an island to the south, you get there by cable car or ferry, the island is basically a park, 3 nice beaches and aquarium, monorail, plus lots more. Very nice, the only other things to do in singapore are eat and shop (fake watches a speciality - but go the markets for that and haggle). | 28 October 2002 |
| roj | We are in Hong Kong now and its quite interesting, not as hot as everywhere else, but that suits me fine. We are in a cyber cafe now that serves food and offered us 45mins access with dinner, but only if you eat dinner at the computer! We chose to have dinner first but seem to be the only ones who did, its a pretty busy place and everyone else here seem to be a hardcore gamer, but it means the access is quick. 2 more days here then its off to sydney and we can settle down for a bit. | 28 October 2002 |
| Mum | Hope all is well in Singapore,Aunt Nell spent many yrs their. | 27 October 2002 |
| Mum | I ve more leaks than tiles on my roof,I have never known France to be so wet,at least the ducks are happy. | 25 October 2002 |
| Stu | I`ve got a day in Singapore in mid December (prior to 4 weeks in Oz) what do you recommend I go see in that one day (apart from the bar in Raffles)? | 25 October 2002 |
| Chris | Did you go to the teak palace in Bangkok? It is very nice. And what about Kanchanabori (The river Kwai)? Very nice too. | 25 October 2002 |
| Sara | What are you doing in an internet cafe? Get out and see stuff, you`re on holiday for gods sake! | 25 October 2002 |
| roj | Oh, and it did rain a bit but mostly at night or when we were in a cab. That`s one thing we were lucky about. | 25 October 2002 |
| roj | We are in singapore now and it really nice, just bought a fake watch for about 3 quid. Bangkok and thailand was an experince, at times not a great one, everyone is trying to rip you off, and its a bit polluted and traffic is cr@p. But there are some pretty nice things too, food is great, its very cheap, hotel was excellent (Amari booked through trailfinders Roy, 29 quid an night). The royal palace in bangkok was fantastic, but don`t try and get there on a bus. In fact apart from the bus from the airport we gave up on buses completely after 1 trip, just take cabs (not tut tuts) and ask for a meter fare or walk off, this works in most negotiating situations. Ayutthya was great for a trip too, lovely ruins (but very basic facilities!), the beaches are good apparently but we didn`t see any this time. | 25 October 2002 |
| Sara | Have fun kids! You may have floods in Bangkok but at least you missed the Manchester earthquakes! Flavia - I hope you have a good book to take to the Cricket (the dullest sport on the planet)! | 25 October 2002 |
| Royster | How were the floods in Bangkok? Any tips for stuff to do/places to see etc. when we go in a few weeks? | 24 October 2002 |
| Bec | Roj/Flavia GOOD LUCK! We will miss you | 21 October 2002 |
| jeff | thank you for this link Roger we at HSE look forward to having our noses rubbed in your 3 month of pleasure, or should I say 2 months 29 days! | 21 October 2002 |
| Mum | I hope you packed a woolly vest | 21 October 2002 |
| roj | Hi Lloyd, yes we have tickets for the first test in brisabne, a 5 day pass (each), but I don`t know how many days it will last. As you can imagine flavia is pretty excited about that. :-) | 21 October 2002 |
| roj | We arrived in bangkok yesteday and once they had finally decided to let flavia have a visa everything went smoothly. The hotel is v nice, and we are staying here for 2 days and will then go and visit something outside the city until we go to singapore on friday. | 21 October 2002 |
| Lloyd | Roj, are you seeing any of the Ashes? | 20 October 2002 |
| roj | Well we`re off tomorrow (to Thailand) and we arrive on Sunday (my b`day!). We`ll check in along the way but right now I`d better get packing. | 18 October 2002 |
| Homer | Great photos in the gallery. | 3 September 2002 |
| Cartman | Wow, this is pretty sweeet! | 30 October 2000 |
| Roj | Welcome to the Lards.net guestbook, the latest feature to be added to this site. Leave a message, give some feedback or just say hi. | 10 October 2000 |
